Human trafficking is a horrific crime that impacts millions of victims across the globe. At Maritz Global Events, we are proud to be involved in the fight against human trafficking since signing The Code with ECPAT-USA in 2013.
Most recently, we organized a “Walk for Freedom” as an opportunity to further raise awareness of the issue among our employees and our surrounding communities. On Tuesday, July 12, nearly 300 employees from Maritz Global Events, Maritz Travel and Experient participated in the event across the United States.
From the walk, we were honored to raise more than $3,200 for local organizations involved in the fight against human trafficking and helping survivors get back on their feet. The organizations include The Covering House, Freedom House, Stepping Stones, Summit County Collaborative Against Human Trafficking, Dawn’s Place and University of Maryland SAFE Center.
In some of our office locations, we were joined by some of our incredible partners including ACCESS Destination Services, Allied PRA Northern California, Destination Cleveland, Fairmont Kea Lani & Fairmont Orchid, Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB and Loews Hotel & Resorts, among others.
